Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
Personal preference: B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A. - Been using them on all my "hot-rods" for years. Last set on the front of my '70 stepper: 40,000 miles. - Rears : not so "OOPS"

Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
It really is a matter of personal preference. I like a taller sidewall, so I look at a 70 series tire. If you like less sidewall you might like the looks of a 50 or 60 series tire. I run 255/70/15 Firestone Indy 500's on my 6 lug rallys and really like the look. The 255 is how wide the face of the tire is. In my case 255mm wide. The 70 is considered the aspect ratio. Basically, a percentage of tire face applied to sidewall height. Im not really brand loyal on tires. I have Cooper Cobra's on my Nova and like those as well. I would browse the many tire and wheel threads on here and that will give you more of a visual idea.

Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
Coincidentally, I just mentioned that in another post. Here are mine, not a great picture. Personally, I don't like the way they fit in the well. Maybe it's the fact the bed is down to metal, because they look better in front.

Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
Mine are 215/75 15's in front and 235/75 15's in the rear. Good clearance and sidewall height even on a 3/5 drop. I used a tire comparison website that shows side by side views of the tires and dimensions.

Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
Just as a side note Toyo Open Country have wide grooves and like to pick up gravel alot then spit them out later.
I have a set on mine, that is how I found out. Also been told that by a few other people. |

Re: Please help me to buy the right tires
I just bought Toyo Open Country ATII's for my Cummins. As far as the AT's are concerned, I haven't found they pick up as much gravel as the Yokohama AT's. Just my two cents.
