Diff cover clearance with pan hard bar?
Im looking at diff covers and with the pan hard bar Im using I only have about 3-1/2" of clearance from the diff housing (where the bolts are). On summit they have a finned one that states its 5" tall... its a finned aluminum one. So I guess this puts me at somewhat of a restriction on what I can use. Anyone using a "No Limit" Panhard relocation setup and if so what diff cover are you using? What is your clearance from Housings face to the bar?
Thanks

Re: Diff cover clearance with pan hard bar?
Well that makes me a little mad. Those guys at No Limit and anywhere else that sells the longer bars and relocation kits should be giving a head up on this. Or at least offering you clearance measurements so your not surprised when it comes time to put a cover on. Good covers and the pan hard kits are not cheap. The stock one fits with about an 1-1/2 clearance, so I guess I will have to use a stock one or get the stainless one that is the same dimensions. What a pisser.. I wanted one with the support or with the fins.. Guess Ill have to call No Limit and see if they have another bar that gives more clearance if I want to go with what I wanted...

I have a finned aluminum diff cover and you'll have to use either the CPP or PB "bent" panhard bar. I have both , and have to sing the praises of the PB piece...it's a much beefier piece for sure.

I plan on getting a finned thicker cover as well. Discovered I had to get a bent bar once I dropped to 6". Here are some pics of the straight bar vs CPP bar.

Re: Diff cover clearance with pan hard bar?
I completely understand your frustration, but you couldn't really expect a fabrication company to develop products with a bunch of other aftermarket companies parts in mind. There's just way too many variables in fabrication to accurately bring a product to market while still considering the vast amount of modifications that are done on these vehicles. If I were you, I would contact them and explain your issue. Many of us have had great luck with some of these companies standing behind their products and offering refunds or alternate parts to aid in the build process. I know ECE goes out of their way to help people.

Re: Diff cover clearance with pan hard bar?
Well no, since this is the first c10 Im doing I had no idea it would even come into play, but Im sure they have run across this with many other builds.... I know better now, but now is already several hundred bucks out for the relocation setup.... A simple "this kit leaves 3-1/2" for diff cover" on the description would not have cost them near as much as the headaches of guys calling wanting to send the parts back.... right?
