1965 instrument panel restoration
Anyone know any tips on repainting my instrument panel? I would like it to look fresh and original but I'm not sure what kind of paint to use or anything. Here is a picture of it.

Re: 1965 instrument panel restoration
plenty of write ups on chevy gauge cluster in the faq at the top of the forum but I don't think there's any on GMC.

Re: 1965 instrument panel restoration
There's a thread called "how to restore and detail an original gauge cluster". It's for a chevy but the info is invaluable. I'm trying to post a link but am having trouble. It's in the FAQ section. Also you can google search the 67-72 chevytrucks.com at the top of the page. Just type in what I quoted and it will pop up.

Re: 1965 instrument panel restoration
Get ahold of Tom from Classic instrument on here. He has a guy that does a factory like finished bezel restoration for cheap. Much less than paying a restoration shop to sink 6 hours into it.

Re: 1965 instrument panel restoration
I just cleaned mine up carefully and repainted the bezel and gauge cover with Krylon gloss black. Will have someone do the gauges and odometer eventually.
