1972 4x4 rear disc options
Looking to put some rear disc on my 72 k5, not finding a whole lot out there besides old cadilac brake kits. Anybody used wilwoods or anyone else's rear kit on a 4x4, most applications show c10 but I don't see much difference in what I would need for my k5.

Call up or email wilwood and tell them what you have and if you want a parking brake or not,They should give you a few options.

Re: 1972 4x4 rear disc options
Find a 2002 GMC Yukon and see if you can adapt the 6 lug rear disc brakes to your axle... they are drum in hat emergency brakes... the backing plate is available new from rockauto.com so you could build it from all new parts but it might be more expensive...
rockauto cross references all the vehicles below as interchangable.... CADILLAC ESCALADE (2002 - 2006) CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500 (2002 - 2006) CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 (1999 - 2006) CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 CLASSIC 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500 (2000 - 2006) CHEVROLET TAHOE (2000 - 2006) GMC SIERRA 1500 (1999 - 2006) GMC SIERRA 1500 CLASSIC 2007 GMC SIERRA C3 2001 GMC YUKON (2000 - 2006) GMC YUKON XL 1500 (2000 - 2006) AC Delco PN: 89026798 I swapped the whole axle, but I went 8 lug from an 04 3500 series truck... |
