Question Tailgate Queation?

Hey Guys! I got a question for you. I just picked up a 72 Jimmy that has been sitting for quite a while and has typicall 72 Rust. The only maijor problem is the tailgate, so my question is will any 69-72 tailgate work(trucks included) or does it have to be Blzer\Jimmy spusiffic?
Thanks Guys
Tito

Any tailgate will work. The jimmy and blazer tailgates just came with a trim piece that runs across the top edge for the hatch to close onto. Make sure you keep your piece, or get a new one.

Question

My tailgate has the wood grain trim on it.
Is this covering up the letters stamped in
the metal?

Hatguy- I have the woodgrain trim too, and yes it is covering up the stamped Chevrolet lettering.

Cool

Thanks
Has any one used the woodgrain "tape" to
restore the tailgate trim panel? The new ones
are a little high in price.

I know that rolls of woodgrain tape for the side mouldings used to be sold, but I never saw the woodgrain tape for the rear applique.
