1962 c10 to 1972 - ish power steering
Ok,
I'm sorry, I've looked all over but never found one for a 1962.. I am loking for a thread that has info on installing the 1972 front end for a 62.. I've seen 63-66. I have my crossmember bolted in and everything and now I'm going to work on the power steering, but need a bracket of some sort. Captain Fab has them for 63's though.. I guess I will take some pictures when I get off work, but I bolted everything under the truck on, and the power steering gear box is just sitting there waiting to be installed.. Thanks for the advice! |

I'm putting together a 62 chevy LWB, and used the CPP6066PSK power steering bracket kit.

When you say "front end", I'm assuming the frame is still 62. This bolts onto frame and has 1 bolt going through a spacer. The "front end" you are talking about should be the crossmember and a arms? I put an '80 crossmember with a arms on mine, but still a 62 frame.

I also welded the bracket on to make sure it wouldn't break a bolt(Just overkill). Good Luck

Re: 1962 c10 to 1972 - ish power steering
Ok, sorry for bringing this thread back up, but didn't fee like making a new one. I'm stumped of where/how to mount my kit from CPP. I looked at the link above and want to make sure that I would need to notch the frame like above. Can anyone help? In the photos I have the mount set up in the farthest front hole.
Would I tilt the back of the mount up? Thanks |

Thanks. So I guess the only hole that lines up is the front one?

Anyone else's just line up with one hole?

Re: 1962 c10 to 1972 - ish power steering
It's been a while since I've done it so the only thing I could suggest is that, before you start drilling more holes put the box on the bracket and see how it lines up with the steering column shaft. Some of them apparently did not line up straight.
