Need exhaust help

So I'm trying to button up my exhaust. I would love to put headers on it but the budget won't allow it. I'm afraid I have two different exhaust manifolds because they take different flange types. It's not the angles but the surfaces. I went to the pick and pull this morning and only found one 80's truck that had exhaust but would have required a couple of hours to clear the vegetation and get the truck off the ground. So I opted to explore other options

Can anyone tell me if my manifolds are matching? And where to get flanges to bolt up to them? I've checked eBay, Napa and Midas with no luck.

I'll take a guess. The passenger side looks like it just uses a standard triangular flange plate with beveled donut gasket. The studs are missing, hopefully not broken off?? On the drivers is the piece below the flat part of the flange metal or an old gasket? It probably uses the same triangle metal flange with a flared pipe with or without a beveled/flare gasket.

yes they are matched. both sides require a donut gasket, flared tube and 3 bolt flange
once you look at the pic you'll see that every auto parts store carries the flange, tube and gasket
look under the pass side and you'll see the taper underneath, though i think a few studs are broken
the drivers side has the donut stuck in there, just pull it off, there may be a short tube insert in there holding it in

the parts are available everywhere: ask for a 55 to 85 3 bolt flange and exhaust donut
any muffler shop can do the taper on the tube or any auto parts store will have a short flared tube
you do need to figure out what size probably 2.25'', measure the inside of the manifold
the flange does not weld on, slip it on the flared tube before welding you exhaust together

the pass side is also machined flat for a heat riser if you needed one



and would use this gasket in between the manifold and heat riser and a donut to the exhaust

Pulled off the drivers side and the gasket isn't stuck in there ORGE. Does this change anything?

I have a set of those without the ball type exit. a little more challenge with the ball type hookups, but totally doable.

Looks like a pair of manifolds from a square body pickup, late 70's to '80s vintage. Are you sure there's plenty of clearance for the RH side? These trucks usually like less angle there.

Speedway motors sells a set of block hugger headers for $65. If your crossmember allows this isn't a bad price. They've also got a set of center dump ram's horns for $114. Again, if the crossmember doesn't interfere.

The pieces Ogre showed will get the manifolds you have connected a set of pipes. Print out and bring to store if necessary.

If you are taking it to a muffler shop to have the pipes put on they shouldn't have a problem working with the manifolds you have.

I'm like 1project2many in that those look like square body manifolds from the years he suggested. You could snag a set of lead off pipes off a square body to make the lead pipes if you are super short on exhaust $$. Not many bux used and that would get you back to where the pipes could be run pretty straight back off them to the mufflers.

There is plenty of room on the pass side. The motor is a 85' 305. The frame is an S10.

nope. just means you eliminate the donut.
still uses the same flared tube and flange

Do you have a welder? I'm not afraid to stop at the muffler shop and ask for pieces from the scrap pile. Having all sorts of random bends handy can make a world of difference and save some $$ at the same time.
