Blue or Black
I have a medium dark blue 71 . Cant decide on painting my O.E. Steel Wheels with Nova Caps Blue or Black.
What do ya think ? If you have a blue truck with Steels , post it. The blue is the blue on the tail gate in my avatar. |

Re: Blue or Black
Either the body color blue or a brighter shade like process blue. My vote would be the body color like GM did on the cars with hub caps. What Nova caps are you thinking of, the bowtie baby moons?

Re: Blue or Black
. Not really a moon but the same diameter . I guess they would be considered a dog dish.

Re: Blue or Black
Like this? These were base on Camaros and Novas IIRC. Have a set on my 69 Camaro along with Impala 15" wheels looks so stock.

Re: Blue or Black
naw ,,, not like that . They have a bowl in the center . I pulled them off of a 69 4 door nova. Probably came off another car.

Re: Blue or Black
For some reason I had 70s stuck in my mind. Of course the base 69 cap used on many models looked like this and had little value until every last one became a "COPO" hub cap.
As you can see the body color works well. Thinking about trim rings too?

Re: Blue or Black
if the rest of the truck looks like your tailgate, I'd go with body color also.

Re: Blue or Black
Yep , that's the caps. I painted the wheels blue last night. Just finished the bed sides , back of cab and front bed panel this morning. I'm building a shop truck. It will be blue with a white top. I love the shop trucks. I grew up in this truck as a kid and a teen. I've done everything imaginable in it. My childhood buddy got cancer and wanted me to have it so he could afford his bills. I bought the truck without seeing it for over 20 years. His Dad left it to him after he died of cancer.
