Lifes little bumps
Its been a crazy year .
I was hoping to : 1) Do my disc brake/spindle swap, and ball joints. 2) Install a gas tank in the bed. 3) Install the Tom Langdon headers, and new glass packs. 4) Install the tilt steering. 5) Decide what wheels to install: painted smoothies, with moon caps or spider caps ,Cragar S/S,wire wheels ,or some rally wheels. I have all the parts but no time. Yes I know "you gotta make time" But last September my wife stubbed her toe pretty bad which resulted in her having her right leg amputated just below her knee( long story and no she doesn't have diabetes). She has made real good progress but my priorities had to change, and the truck had to wait, I drive her ( the Truck) when I can. Two weeks ago I come out of the store to find some one had put a nice dent on the left front fender...... ahh life. Now this isn't a rambling "why me ?"post. I just want to thank each one of you for keeping me motivated. Your progress on your trucks reminds me that I just have to keep plugging along. So with that said: "THANK YOU!!!" and keep on trucking !

Re: Lifes little bumps
Sorry to hear about your wife Sal, I hope she is doing okay now.
I do know about having no time to work on a truck project. I keep hoping though.

Re: Lifes little bumps
I too am sorry to hear about the bumps you're having. Not bring able to work on the projects is always killer to me. Keep your head up... to me there is always a reason to why I am not supposed to be working on my project as there is always a greater plan.

Re: Lifes little bumps
Your priorities and dedication are in the right spot for now. This forum doesn't judge what state your truck is in. Take care of the important stuff and the rest can follow.

Re: Lifes little bumps
Life is tough. Hope your wife heals up soon and life slows back down a bit so you can get onto things you want to do.
Old saying comes to mind; "Life's a sheet sandwich. The more bread you got, the less sheet you have to eat". I find the easiest way to actually get moving on a stalled project again is to make a list of "everything I want to do to it" both big and small. Give each item a number. Once done I look through and bypass those items that take big money or time and pick one little item at a time that can be accomplished in short order for little or no money. Before you know it I am starting to move forward again. A lot of times getting started is a huge step. Wish you and yours the best, from another guy who needs inspiration from others now and again.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Hope everything is well as it can be now. Truck can sit a few years. Family is too precious and health is too fragile. And you are right, life sure is full of bumps!

Re: Lifes little bumps
Sal I know the feeling! Family comes 1st.. My 60 was T boned by a 17 yr kid last October at my daughters Homecoming parade. I have been driving the truck for 2 yrs after a 9 yr build! Now I have to start all over! Found me a donor cab (BBW), left rear step, fender and etc but also no time....Im just thankful my kids were not envolved in the accident and me and the wifey are doing fine!..

Re: Lifes little bumps
Prayers are with you and your wife. Trucks always take a back seat to the important things in life, just what has to be done. In due time you'll get back to normal.
