Intermediate brake cable?
Hello guy's & thanks for looking
Ok took my 1969 C10 SWB completely apart to paint the frame and do an LS swap so now I'm going back together & everything is going good till I get to reinstalling my parking brake cable & man let me tell you I've done everything short of using a come along lol I just can't seem to get this #%#% intermediate parking brake cable reinstalled. So my question to you is there a trick you guys have used to get this rascal back on? The closest I have been able to get is a bout 2 1/2 to 3 inches from putting the last cable hook to the frame. I have even tried laying flat on my back pushing the cable with my feet and having a friend try to hook that last cable hook to the frame with no success Question: I really remember the hooks going to the frame one hook on each frame rail or am I wrong and they hook up to the transmission crossmember? Anyway I have tried both ways and still can't get it reinstalled. Any help and or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Miguel Stevens Don't know if it matters but the truck has the original six lug drum brakes in the back and the cable is the same cable I took off just so you know so you won't think it's a new cable that has not been installed or stretched out yet. |
