1964 Firewall Heater Question

Starting on restoring my 1964 and the firewall has seen some modifications. Need to know if heater area on firewall is stock and or what type of mods may have been made. Photo of firewall is below. If you have a photo of stock firewall with delux heater to post it would be a big help.

Not sure what heater this truck came with, do not believe the heater came with the block-off plate shown in the photo below. It is reported that a heater block off plate was not available in 64'.

thanks
Les

Re: 1964 Firewall Heater Question

To install the deluxe heater, you will need to remove the lower blockoff plate.

Re: 1964 Firewall Heater Question

John,

Thanks for the help on Deluxe heater install.

From my limited research, looks like lower right firewall hole is where wire harness for fan motor passes through. If correct was their a rubber grommet protecting the wire harness.

Re: 1964 Firewall Heater Question

Yes, that lower hole closer to the engine is where the fan wire passes thru with a rubber grommet.
