Anyone have a pic of how these brackets go?
I have tried and tried and cannot figure out how these brackets work with my ac compressor on my 454. I believe i know how the brackets go but cannot get the compressor to fit so i dont know what i am doing wrong. If anyone has a pic of how the brackets mount i would greatly appreciate it. Also the compressor still has the 2 brackets from when it was on my small block. Are they different for big block? If anyone knows what power steering bracket to use with this setup that would be great as well as mine seems to conflict with the big front bracket. The number on the big bracket is 3969917. Thanks

What water pump are you using? Are you trying to mount the compressor on the drivers or passenger side?
Those brackets do not look like the ones in the service manual

Re: Anyone have a pic of how these brackets go?
I have a long waterpump. The brackets i have are for the driver side of the engine. I think the ones you pictured are what came stock. These are a complete set but off something other than a 67-72 pickup. I also had driver side mounts for ac on my small block so i wanted to keep it on the same side.

Those brackets in the pics you have appear to be from a big block Chevelle. They mount on the drivers side, trucks go on right.

Re: Anyone have a pic of how these brackets go?
I figured they were probably from a car. My 454 is actually out of a friends chevelle and already has all the car style brackets and chevelle headers. maybe i should also ask on the chevelle forums as they may know more being car brackets.

Do you want to mount them on the drivers side?
