Back from paint jail
Well, I finally got my 69 back from "PAINT JAIL" where they took over three months to do the body work & paint (outside only, no interior or inside bed) they kept putting it on the side for Insurance work. From what I've read on here though, that's not really too long... heard worse stories. Anyway, it turned out great!! now I need to finish the interior & lower it another 3" front ( got the spindles) and 2" rear (blocks) along with a few other changes and should be good to go.
Thought I'd show a few before and after shots. |

Re: Back from paint jail
EXACTLY!! The rains here in Oregon start up the 15th of October and don't stop till June... even though a little rain right now would BE GREAT - we're BURNING UP HERE!!

Re: Back from paint jail
Looks great! Mine took almost a year (same thing, they worked on it between insurance jobs). But going that route saves a ton of money, and they paid close attention to detail. I'm very happy with how my truck turned out.

That looks good!
It is literally burning in Oregon right now. The entire Portland area was covered in smoke from wildfires the last couple of days. |

Re: Back from paint jail
Looks great! And 3 months doesn't seem bad at all compared to what I've heard others experience.

Re: Back from paint jail
Looks great, and 3 months turnaround is more like paint probation rather than the 1.5 year sentence my truck got!

Re: Back from paint jail
I like the color, looks good! 3 months is nothing but it seems like it takes forever regardless.
Been hot and smoky over here for an eternity!

Re: Back from paint jail
Got them off ebay, can't remember the site. just go to ebay and enter 18" rally wheels, should pop up. these are 6 bolt too, paid about $600 for the set. Had to send one back... had a hairline crack in the casting, but they replaced no charge.

That sounds like you got a pretty good price. Maybe I'll see your truck around sometime, I live just a few miles west of Hillsboro.

Re: Back from paint jail
It's a Ford color... Stearling Gray Metalic UJ Code. Saw it on my neighbors New Ford Escape, really pops in the sun, lots of metallic. I guess they make a light & dark version, and I ended up with the darker version I guess, even though I was thinking it would be lighter. I kind of like the darker version with the Ralleys.
