Is it worth anything???
Have a line on a one owner, original 64 showing 67k for milage and I believe her.
Dents in the doors, from the cows rubbing on it. Bed might be shot, says runs well, 6 cyl. What kind of price would you pros in the know put on this? I am thinking of another street rod. |

Re: Is it worth anything???
All depends on what part of the country you are in. In Virginia a truck like that with little to no rust can easily get $3500 just like it sits because you just never can find them. If you can get it for what you think is a fair price I say buy it. Overall looks like a pretty good truck.

Re: Is it worth anything???
I'm guessing that the mileage could be original also, interior looks pretty clean and not a lot of wear on the steering wheel. If the cab is clean and you can drive it down the road I would say 3,500 to 4,000 would be about right around here. Joseph

Re: Is it worth anything???
That's not a bad find at all. It is totally regional with pricing. Around here that's a 1200-2000 truck running. It doesn't look too bad but as said above floor and rockers and hidden rust can kill the deal.

Re: Is it worth anything???
Thanks for all the input, guys. The price you mentioned is about what I thought too. Now to do my homework on suspension upgrades...or....do I leave it original (if I buy it)? Such choices...
Thanks all!! |

Re: Is it worth anything???
Shoot him an offer of $1800 and see if he bites on it. If not, scoot the offer up at $100 increments until he gets quiet. When he gets quiet, he's thinking, and you're now close. The seller will get quiet when he's thinking about how much profit he stands to lose or gain, and he's doing the math in his head. Bid accordingly, but never let him get the idea that you really, really, want the truck.
I would highly recommend that you get the truck. That thing is solid! If you get it, I would take it to a paintless dent removal guy and have him professionally get the dents out without damaging the paint. After that, do a CLR wash to get the rust off and then spray the outside in a urethane clear. Trucks like that don't come along often. Good Luck!!!!

Is it worth something? Of course. I wouldn't even make an offer. I would ask what they want for it, then work from there. |

Re: Is it worth anything???
My thought was to offer $1500 and be prepared to go to $2500 (or so)

Re: Is it worth anything???
Depends on what your gonna use it for! As a daily driver I'd leave it stock(new shocks at least) and install a front sway bar. And you can always get lowering coils and shocks to. Really depends on what your wanting out of it.

Re: Is it worth anything???
Funny, I was thinking exactly the same,, offer $1500 and take $2500 cash with you iof you want it.
The I saw cooper is from Az (just 30 miles from me in Casa Grande) Still lots of Az. pretty rust free old ranch trucks around here in various stages of parts robbing that you can buy for under $1000. One complete and running is going to be closer to $3000 even in rough shape. Barrett-Jackson / Mechum has been a 'fluffer' for the ego's and prices of people that have simply JUNK sitting around Az. The prices you see on TV is only going to happen on TV and in the self generating market of rich boys impressing each other with how much they are willing to spend on some old iron. Don't get me wrong,,, some of the true 'collector' cars are worth a TON,, but every time a true original low mile L88 1968 Corvette sells for $500,000,,,, the cost of a $800 c-10 jumps another $500. HOW does that make any sense!!!

Re: Is it worth anything???
I bought my truck last year for $1000. It was listed on CL for $600 seller wouldn't respond to emails (no phone listed) so I took a risk and sent him an email saying I'd give him a grand, he got back in about 2 minutes. Photo below shows what I bought. Came with bed and hood (no bed wood).
Anyway, it had no motor or trans which I then bought for $400 (292 and a sm465). So a week after getting the truck I'm in it for a little less than $1500 and it runs, doesn't drive but runs. A year later with new tires, new brakes, new window seals, new Drive shaft, Heater, high hump, bumper, floor mats and a whole bunch of things I can't or refuse to remember I'm in it for about $5000 not including labor. I still think I'm ahead of the game. My point is if that truck is as clean as it looks and it runs and drives well, I'd say it's a steal for anything under $5k and I'm pretty sure a good bath and pop out the door dents and you have a truck the patina crowd would pay fairly big $$ for. This of course is all assuming that the any rust is minimal as mine was. Rust as mentioned earlier is a game changer. Good luck

Re: Is it worth anything???
If you're planning on buying something like that at an auction, better bring your check book. My experience in those situations is there are always a couple of local guys that have had their eye on it for years and are willing to pay way more than its worth to get it. I watched $2500 35 chevy car sell at an auction for almost $6000 the last time I went to one. That being said it looks like a sweet truck, and I'd definitely be there to make sure it sells for too much

Re: Is it worth anything???
That sucks. But that is how I bought my 64 Chevelle 4 dr, I really wanted the car but I did end up paying about 1500.00 more than I wanted to. That was a year and a half ago and looking at it now I don't regret it, cause I love getting her out of the garage and going for a cruise.
