Can you use heated seat kits with non perferated vinyl?

Just wanted to see if anyone has ever done this with the original vinyl? Does the perferated areas have a direct purpose to the heating and cooling of the pad ? Will it damage my covers if there nor perferated? Thanks.

They don't get hot enough to cause any damage. You will be fine. I've installed at least 50 kits.

Thumbs up Re: Can you use heated seat kits with non perferated vinyl?

I bought my kits off ebay for the 71. Says they can be mounted under any cloth or vinyl covers.
Here is my post when I did mine.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Can you use heated seat kits with non perferated vinyl?

I happened to catch both the seat guys in the coffee room a minute ago and asked them your question.

They said you'd be fine (the heat just passes right up through the vinyl).

The perforations, if functional and not just a styling feature, are to allow the air to flow through for cooled/vented seats.
