This is my first 50's truck. I bought it from Arkansas last year, I had a post about the horrible shipping experience but that was the last post I had.

The truck is mostly, if not all original. I sealed the original paint, have got it running and driving (just not stopping yet) and fixed a bunch of misc things wrong with it. For some reason the freeze plugs were out of it, still don't know why but the cooling system functions as it should once I knocked some back in.

Is there anything you can do to lower the stock front suspension? There doesn't appear to be a lot of room between the spring and the bump stop but I thought I would ask.

Not really much you can do with the stock front suspension. I took one leaf out of my 55, which lowered it at little, but not much. As you can see, there is not much room for up travel of the axle. It seems the drop I-beam axle may be the way to go, but I have never used one.
