Question Leaf Spring Traction

So I've noticed there are some very fast cars and trucks out there running leaf springs but, none of the aftermarket companies offer any of their devices for the wider springs in my 65 and most aren't for over the axle either. Based on that who sells the right tubing so I can build my own? Are the ends already threaded? I will build them closer to these guys style than Calverts: http://smithracecraft.com/index.php?...emart&Itemid=4

Thanks

Re: Leaf Spring Traction

I built my own using some plates i cut out of some scrap steel i had laying around. For my tubes i measured from center of leaf spring to the front spring perch bolt and took that measuement to harbor freight. In the trailer section they have top link bars that have heims on both ends and a center threaded rod. $25 dollars each and i got to use a 25% off coupon. Worked great for me. I used measurements i found online for the plates. Hotrodsandhemis.com or something just google it.

Re: Leaf Spring Traction

After further review I found some rally nice bars I can use like these, see below that can be made up to 37.5" long and are .25" thick for $109 each.

What I would like to know though is, should I see if they can make the adjustable on both ends to set tension either away from the axle or pull in towards the axle?

Re: Leaf Spring Traction

Look in No limit's catalog. they have really long traction bars I think you are looking for. I have had a set for like 5 years. I had to modify the attach brackets at both ends when I lowered my truck, but used them over.

Re: Leaf Spring Traction

Do you mean the type like they use on 55-59 trucks? With those two large bushings? I've been thinking about those too, since I'm not dropping my truck much do you think it would be better to mount any kind of them under the frame rails rather then the side of it? Maybe someone else will chime in but should they be more parallel to the ground? I can build any sort of mount I need if they would be better situated like that.
