Yukon gears
I have a Yukon gear set (R&P) ring gear is black metal looking and the pinion is regular silver metal looking. bought off e-bay (not from Yukon). Miss matched? every time i try to save a 5c i get burned. any way to tell if a matched set? seller jumped at my $160 offer----------these are fore a Dana 44 axle.

I don't know about Yukon specifically, but spicer and other manufacturers have a matching number set either stamped or etched into the gears, usually a 3 digit number

Thanks KW-- #840 stamped on the ring gear and 840 burnt on the bottom of the pinion. Box was all greasy as why i was questioning.
