Disc brake ?

getting ready to start the restore on my 64. its a 3/4 ton with 15" 8 hole wheels. i want to start with the brakes and would like to put disc brakes at least on the front. ive never done anything like this before so i dont really know where to start. my cousin says we can go to the junk yard and get the stuff we need off a newer truck. my question is what actually do i need to get. what will work (as far as the donar truck) will want to keep the 8 hole pattern and will likely have to change to 16" wheels. then if i decide on disc on the rear, what would i need for that?
thanks

Re: Disc brake ?

What you are going to need to do is find a 73 to 87 20 series donor for the parts. If you look through the FAQ section there is a lot of good info on the disc swap for the trucks in general that will help like going to power brakes and how to split the lines. Hopefully Captfab will chime in on this as he is the resident expert on the swaps and makes the parts lots of us use in doing them.
