Porterbuilt Front tire Size
Hey guys I have My PB suspension on order and am pretty sure I am going to be running a 28.6", 29" if I can find a good tire combo 20" wheel in the back.
I have not figured out the front yet. How wide of a front tire will fit with a level 3 front kit and the 1" narrow arm. I know every truck is different and it will depend on inner fender choice and other factors. I am just trying to get ian idea of what others are running. |

20 x 8.5 with 5.25" BS and a 255 40 R20 (28" overall diameter) Make sure to measure your truck to confirm fitment... there is some variance from truck to truck... so take it upon yourself to ensure the numbers match on your truck (I don't want to be held responsible if it doesn't fit exactly how you would have hoped) Also, there may be a little room for a lesser backspacing, however we don't recommend running more than a 5.25" BS as the wheel will start having clearance issues at the sway bar at full lock. Re: Porterbuilt Front tire Size
Nate,
I appreciate the Reply, of course I will do the homework on where my backspace needs to be. I am just trying to get an idea of where I need to start looking for tires and wheel width. 12 weeks cant come fast enough...... I think I have only made it through a month of my lead time so far. Speaking of sway bars. would a splined (or bolt together) type sway bar with flat plate arms, Similar to a A-body ridetech muscle bar give more clearance to run a wider tire and/or more backspace? I am thinking the shock would then become the next limiting factor? |

You could get a percy's wheelrite its around 80 bucks,It will let you test out any rim size and back spacing you can think of.

I do have one of these and plan to use it when the time comes. At this time I don't have the suspension or brakes. so I was trying to get an idea of sizes to look for. Just trying to plan ahead.

I am sure the tabs could be re-located inboard a little if you wanted to run a narrower sway bar, Nate

I am curious to know, If the mounting C/L of the swaybar can somehow be moved rearward on the frame, and have the swaybar end link mount through the plate of the control arm rather than on a tab to the outside of the arm. I am not sure of any bag clearance issues that may come up in this situation. I thought I saw a post a while back where you mentioned you would be making your sway bars in house or were changing suppliers is this still happening. |

What are you running for front inner fenders? do you have any under hood shots with or without the inner fenders I would love to see it both ways. It looks like you are running one of my tire choices in the front my other choice could be a 275/40/20 on a 9-9.5" Rim..... I know this may not be possible but I will be checking for options when my DM arrives. |

Re: Porterbuilt Front tire Size
Thanks. Here's a couple pictures of a filler piece I made for the inner fenders.

When you are aired out what kind of tire clearance do you have with the hills Fenders? These are the standard slammed fenders not their Supper Slam correct? |
