49 wood bed bolts
Can someone tell me what is the size of the carriage bolts that hold the metal strips down to the wood and cross sills? Thanks

1/4 20 x 1 1/4 for strips, I dont know for cross sills since I didnt use them in either bed wood kit I made. I assume just longer.

Ditto on Joedoh's reply. I just put a new floor in my '54 the strips used the 1/4 "' including the cross sills but the cross sills used a smaller washer than the bolts that are not over a sill. Both side angle rails used 5/16 X 1 1/2" & then back to 1/4" across the front of the bed. Bolt, then big flat washer, lock washer & a nut. I used a big speaker magnet to hold the bolts down. They were stainless but still magnetic.

what a great idea for working alone. I used a big whiny teenager who needed sleeves and gloves because the strips were hot.
