That's a rare truck. Is it 2wd or 4wd? What options does it have? Any pictures of it?

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
Could be a rare one - all we can really tell you with what you've given us to go on is that it's the top of the line trim option - so, rare or not (and, yes, I do consider it rare), it's a very desirable truck. The 8 ft vs 6 ft vs longhorn bed options only seem to count toward buying audience size - swb trucks generally bring more $ when sold, but it all depends what kind of truck YOU want. If you want a std 8 ft bed, then you're like the majority of the buying public back in 72. So, 8 ft maybe not as rare as the other 2 - a longhorn is very rare, but its popularity is less than a swb generally (then there are those of us that love Longhorns... they just weren't available from the factory as 4x4s, which seems to be my latest fever). Can't wait to see more.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
a C20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper, yep, I'd say you've got a nice one on your hands there. Pretty rare and a great combo. Congrats!

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
That seems like a decent price, but it doesn't sound like the truck that you truly want. What do you want?

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
well i would have preferred big block or a short bed but this truck is from a dealership in the city i live in and is still around the truck has been owned by the same family since it was 2 years old and seems to be a great buy but I don't want to be jumping into anything with out asking some people that know more then i do (that would be your guys)
But it will be my daily driver once its restored |

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
There were a lot of 67-72 trucks of all types made. Hold out for what you truly want. Sounds like a swb big block is what the doctor ordered.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
i like all these trucks I found a 71 suburban c20 with some very rare options has it all but A/C big block, buckets and center console, tilt. And then a 67 panel truck that is all original with 283 V8s yup not made with that engine they were made with 290 in line 6 or the 327 V8 and they only made 30 that year BUT the one I got was a truck owned and ordered by the BC government for forestry with the 283 engine and 4x4 and was one of 8 and 5 of them were lost in a forest fire.
I just like saving the rare trucks because too many people cut them up and just kill the originality |

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
barring something not easily seen in pics - yes, it's very worth 3500. A 3/4 tonner will grow on you. I used to be in the swb 402 crowd (i.e. was always looking for one), and they ARE very cool. But if it's a driver, the C20 super and camper options are pretty darn nice for a driver. I think that is a great deal. But, if it's 3500 you now can't put into the search for the swb big block, and you really want one, you should hold off. Hard to do when a good deal like this comes along. I am all 3/4 now and am not turning back. Well, unless a good deal comes along... Ha.

If it is a runner / driver, and not rusted out, buy it. If you wanted, you could re-sale it for a profit if you find that 402 short bed. |

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
What does 3500 get you anymore..especially up here? If not a rustbucket id be all over that.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
What do you guys mean by "rare"? These trucks were pretty common when new. Seen lots of them over the years.
Are you referring to Canada trucks? I bought a 1971 Cheyenne Super 20, 402, 4-speed, factory A.C., tack and gauges, factory installed aux. tank, cargo light, sliding window, plus all the trim, Dana-60 3:54 coil spring rear end, aux over load spring. P.S. P.B. Would this be considered rare? Mine by the way is the same color as this one, same inside too.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
Price is so dependent on rust and body.
My first impression from the open door shot was, I can be there Saturday and pick this truck up.... Then I saw the rust on the front of the hood and it scared me. Rust is expensive to fix.........

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super 20
Ad states it needs rockers....
350 Auto. Power Steering, Power Brake.107,000 miles, Air Cared, runs good. Daily driver.Been in family since 2 years old .Recent Exhaust, new rear Brake drums,Shocks,Tie Rods,Wheel bearings,Alignment....Rockers rusted, needs body work, interior, oak deck....$7,000 in receipts.Asking $4,500 obo. I haven't seen many Cheyenne Supers in my time so yes it is somewhat rare and desirable (rare does not always mean desirable). But I would personally shop for something without rust, instead of a top of the line truck.
