lowering spring which end up?
I'm installing lowering springs on my 1958 Apache with a Camaro front clip.
I bought some Eibach coil springs to lower trucks front end. advertised 1-1.5" drop. Stock Camaro springs have both ends flat. The new springs have a flat end and other end is not, looks like a cut coil end. Which end goes up in the frame ?and what end goes in the lower control arm? Or does it matter? P.S. I did a search but all I found was ?s on what springs to buy and how much drop do you get. |

Re: lowering spring which end up?
You are going to need Camaro springs for that front clip. The truck springs are made entirely different in the way they sit in the cross member.

Re: lowering spring which end up?
Yes, bought the Camaro springs for the 1974 Clip I've got installed.
question is the stock spring is the same on both ends . with the ends bent flat.( not ground flat) New Spring has a bent flat end (just as stock end), other end is not bent flat, just a cut end. The lower A arm has a detent for where the spring end sets or gets clocked. Frame pocket has a cup that the spring fits around. I'm thinking the flat end would get clocked in the A frame, just as the stock spring sat. and the cut end would go I the upper frame pocket around the cup. Is this right?
