No SPID Plate, can I get some ideas on what I have here?
I bought this '70 C10? With State issued vin#. I want to figure out what if any options I have here.
The Inline 6 and 3 speed are easy for a newcomer like me to figure out. I am about to re-gasket the rear end so I will check the gear ratio when the cover is off. What other items should I be looking at? Thanks, Bill See pictures here. http://2212.ecarlist.com/web/ebay_photos/21857452/

It looks pretty clean in the photos. I would just do the basics like checking the condition of the steering linkage / ball joints / idler arm and check the condition of the brake shoes / wheel cylinders / axle seals plus all the fluid levels.

Unless there is a build sheet under or behind the seat (in the springs) you are probably out of luck with no SPID. The ring and pinion tooth count chart is in post #2 in this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=578793 LockDoc

Factory power steering too! I would like to see a picture of the power steering lines where they cross over the frame if you wouldn't mind. Nice truck

Besides the power steering , which most six cyl's did not have you also have the optional wood bed floor, Looks like a very nice truck. The full gauge option would have been listed on the SPID.

The truck is very clean! Steering is tight, Getting ready to convert to front disc brakes with new ball joints and some tie rod ends, Will inspect the rear brakes/cylinders/axles when she's in the air. Fluid levels are already checked. Thanks,

I'm adding power front disc brakes to the power steering this winter to make my knees last longer!
