Re: filler plates??

Thanks. Do you have a picture after the body work was done to the gas filler and firewall?

I see that company is in Canada, if you dont mind me asking what did your pieces cost you shipped to the US? Any hold up in shipping time?

Also is there a secret to welding in the pieces? Should you do small sections of weld at a time? Not sure if doing to much at a time would warp the existing medal.

Any tips help!! Thanks

Re: filler plates??

Yup, that's the name of the company. I already checked out their website.

Anytime you mig something like that, you should do small areas, or stagger your welds to keep warping to a minimum

I am also curious about how bad the shipping charges are, because I have a friend that comes down from Canada once a year and he has a bunch of stuff shipped to my house before he gets here, so he can save on shipping to Canada.

Re: filler plates??

I looked at my receipts from PayPal from October 2010 and I paid $16 shipped. The really nice thing was they put the bend in the filler neck patch. Their really easy to make if want to save the $80, but to me it was worth it.

Re: filler plates??

made my own from an old hood that was bad on the front lip. I even made the curved piece in front of were the blower motor went to match the curve on the other side of the firewall(this was the only piece I used special tools on-shrinker/stretcher). I just used a piece of cardboard and traced out each piece, then transfer that to the metal. saves some $$ for other items.
