LM7 & 4L70e?

Hey, does anyone know if an 4L70e -08 trans will work or what needs to be done to make it work behind a LM7 engine?

Re: LM7 & 4L70e?

4l70e is the same case as a 4l60e so yes it will work (almost every auto truck with a 4.8 or 5.3 cam with a 4l60e), you can also run the 80 with a flexplate and spacer for the 80e.

Hope that answers your question.

I'd like to run a 80e but it's hard to find a newer one here in Sweden.

Do you know if the harness need to be reworked like it do for the 80e trans? And I guess the pcm need to flashed?

Thanks

So you want to go with a 70e? If that is the case the harness for the 70e is the same as the 60e. No rework is needed. Again a 70e is a 60e with some hard part differences (5 pinion planetaries, 3-4 clutches and turbine shaft)

You will not need the segment swap if the controller is from a 5.3 with a 4l60e but you will have to have the VATS removed at minimum.

Re: LM7 & 4L70e?

If your having trouble finding an 80e in sweden, take a look at the Kodiak/Izuzu midsize trucks. I know you guys got/get more of the Euro-market and medium duty stuff. The 80e came in a handful of box trucks, vans, bread trucks (milk trucks) and similar. You might have better luck with that than finding a donor pickup.
