Car intake: gap beneath?
Hi guys. When I wired up the 5.3L in my '68 C-10, I ran some of the wires under the intake manifold to clean it up (02 sensors, trans harness, etc). I'm working on the wiring for a new swap that might require a car intake in the future, pending hood clearance to the truck intake that's on their now.
Do the car intakes have a gap between the bottom of the intake and the top of the valley tray like the trucks manifolds do? I'd hate to route the harness that way now, just to find out it needs to be redone if a car intake swap needs to happen later to clear the hood. Thanks, Matt |

Re: Car intake: gap beneath?
There is a gap, but I dont think they have as much as a truck. It also depends on what car intake you have. A flat bottom LS6 intake has less room as an LS1. I had to gring down the ribbs on the underside of my LS6intake to get the older steam lines to clear. I would check it first before going through that much work because you may not be able to get that many wires under it.
