What'd I just buy? 15x8 NO-Nub 6-lug steelies
I just picked up a set of wheels: two of them are 15x8 four-nub, two of them are 15x8 NO nub steelies, with riveted centers.
They don't have a smooth back side at the hub--they have the raised areas between the lug nuts, and the center looks like the clip-style hubcap centers, but there are no clips on them. I'm trying to send pics from my cell phone to my computer, but it's not going through for some reason, and I don't have the data cord right now either, so I can't post pics. I know the 4-nub will work with disc brakes, and I've got a full set of 4 3-nub wheels, so I'll probably piece-together a set of wheels that will accommodate a brake upgrade later, and sell the others. But I'd like to know what these two are! -Brad

I ended up with one just like those with the rolling frame I bought.

Any picture links to the difference between "nub" and "no-nub" ?
Sorry, I'm a rim novice. |

Nope... other than a set of four will fetch $325 at the swap meet! (Right after making this post, I found two more no-nubs and a pair of 4-nubs for disc brakes... I'm keeping those).

I don't have a pic, but the 'nubs' being talked about are the bumps on the outside of the inner part of the wheel that hold a hub cap.

Just looked and all of mine have nubs or hub caps, which now I understand would be nub'd I didn't think hub capless would even be an option for rims. Figured all the rims could take caps, you just had to buy them. |

Re: What'd I just buy? 15x8 NO-Nub 6-lug steelies
Brad , those are the early version of the 15x8 wheels probably offered as a heavy duty wheel. Not sure if they were ever factory offered or not. Some came with clips , not sure why some didn't. I have the same wheels on my 60 with clips. They are offset more towards the center of the vehicle , not as deep.

Re: What'd I just buy? 15x8 NO-Nub 6-lug steelies
I looked through the parts books 1958-75. There bis no mention of a 15x8 6 lug up to 1970. There is a non year specific listing for 66-75 wheels that mentions a 15x8, no application, with a part number 341506. Group 5.803
