3800 vs 3100? HELP 2nd gen
HI
I'm curious on what is the difference between a 3800 and a 3100 2nd gen because I've found a good deal on a 3800... What is all different on the truck? Ive been trying to find out but there is a real lack of information... Thanks!! |

3800 is 1 ton , 3100 is short bed 1/2 ton.

Thanks, I knew that part but are the chassis and fenders and cab and grille all the same its 1955 too.

cab and fenders 1/2-1 ton are the same

I'm not real familiar with the 2nd series big trucks but I believe the 1 ton frame is 8" tall vs. 1/2 ton 6" tall from the side.

Page 150 has the frame specs for the different models.
This .pdf if for a 1957 but a second series 55 should be the same. https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf If your cab is nice, I'd look for a 3100 frame for it. Shouldn't be hard to find one. |
