HI
I'm curious on what is the difference between a 3800 and a 3100 2nd gen because I've found a good deal on a 3800...
What is all different on the truck? Ive been trying to find out but there is a real lack of information...

thanks
So could I take a 3800 frame and cut it down to 3100 frame length? Or is the frame different?

I'm not real familiar with the 2nd series big trucks but I believe the 1 ton frame is 8" tall vs. 1/2 ton 6" tall from the side.

Page 150 has the frame specs for the different models.
This .pdf if for a 1957 but a second series 55 should be the same.

If your cab is nice, I'd look for a 3100 frame for it. Shouldn't be hard to find one.
