Oil Pan for a 1961 Apache LS Swap ?

Hi guys,

I need to order my oil pan today, I have searched and searched the swap thread but cannot come up with any swaps for a 1961 where a direct fit oil pan part number was stated, I was looking at the Holley 302, CTS-V and F body but I cannot find any information on which one will fit the best. The truck is lowered and running the stock front end set up besides drop spindles. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to order the pan today!

Thanks

Re: Oil Pan for a 1961 Apache LS Swap ?

I used the "F" body pan as it's the thinnest in the front area and the shortest in the deep area. Just get all the gm parts you need, pan, windage tray, pickup tube, dip stick and dip stick tube. Corvette pan may be possibly shorter but i believe it has side wings so it's not popular. Is your crossmember different? Do you have a torsion bar front end??

I think that the LH8 pan should work for you....It will hang 1/2-3/4" below the cross member at the lowest point (you cant lay the frame with it), but on a lowered truck, it works. I have not done a 60-62....so working off info on my 69, I liked the fit (set in 3/4" ahead of the I6 spot), & the price was nice The only kink in the mix that I could see, is if the 60 cross member is taller up front, as compaired to the 67-72 pc ?
