gas tank plumbing question
There are 3 pipes coming out of this side of the tank. The big one on the right is obviously the filler neck. I'm guessing the small one on the left is a gas send which I won't be using becuase I'm using the gas send on the opposite side of the tank. Since I won't be using this one I plan to plug it up. Which leaves the bent pipe in the middle. What is that one for? Is it suppose to link in to the filler neck?

Re: gas tank plumbing question
What tank did you buy? Where did you buy it?

Re: gas tank plumbing question
I got it from American classic. It's the same one that LMC and most other place sell. I think its the Blazer tank.

Re: gas tank plumbing question
It may be a return line from the engine. The middle size one is probably from the filler neck vent.
Keep us posted on the install with pics, I have a bed fill aluminum unit right now and am strongly thinking of using the same tank you are. So I want to see it installed and get the story. (something like this)

Re: gas tank plumbing question
The small tube next to the filler is the vent that connects to the filler and the other is likely to go to the evap canister. Pretty much as Rocknrod posted.

Re: gas tank plumbing question
I plugged the one in the middle and used the smaller one as a return.

Re: gas tank plumbing question
With the vent/middle plugged be prepared to get sprayed with gas EVERY time you fill the tank

Re: gas tank plumbing question
2 more questions. Since these truck don't have a vapor canistor.
1. Which one should I use? Blazer's vapor canister? 2. If I use a vapor Canistor does that mean I don't need a vented gas cap? Not sure this makes a difference but I'm running a carburetor not fuel injection. Last edited by awitate; 12-07-2015 at 02:11 PM. |

Re: gas tank plumbing question
You do not have to use a vapor canister, that is just what that nipple is for. Just cap/plug that nipple.
