58 firewall

Do I need all the three holes in the firewall with the new harness that are available? I have ready filled many on this truck and I would like fill all of them except of what the harness needs. Any help would be nice.

Re: 58 firewall

Depends on the wire kit, if you use the American auto wire harness the holes you have left are used. if its a generic you can do as you please and run it all through on hole or a bulkhead connector

Re: 58 firewall

I used a EZ wire aftermarket. It has enough length in the wire runs to run them in the fender well on tire side of the inner fender, or lower on the sloped portion of the firewall so you can fill all the holes.

^^^This^^^ is what I plan to do. I don't want anything on my firewall especially wiring. I'll run it through the firewall and along the tire side of the inner fender in some kind of armored sheath. I had over FIFTY! Holes in my firewall.

In Process:

Same plan I had, I think I had 47 or so holes from screw size to 1.25" I only kept battery box, battery ground and hood hinge holes.

Re: 58 firewall

Dan yours looks like mine. The PO really know how to use the hole saw and made a mess for me to fix. Thanks everybody for the input on the harness. You all gave me different directions to go.

Re: 58 firewall

i used an ezwire harness and did similar to what orrieg did
except my one hole is below the firewall/floor break
it makes for a clean firewall

the ezwire harness was long enough that i ran all the front end wires on the passenger side
next to the heat/ac hoses i have a flextite waterproof conduit
