AC Wire ID help please
Found this wire when I pulled the AC and heater. Can someone tell me is this just a ground wire? it runs from out on the firewall to inside on the side of the heated to a relay. the wire is gone and I don't know if the rats at some point in time ate the plastic off or what but I need to replace it. also as I was pulling off the heater box this spring fell down from somewhere, any ideas?
thanks Keith

Re: AC Wire ID help please
Well, that does look like a ground wire, as the wiring to the relay is a molded connector.can't say where the spring came from, never seen one like that.

Re: AC Wire ID help please
The wire is in bad shape. It appears to only go from the fire wall to one of the screws that holds the relay on

Re: AC Wire ID help please
The spring belongs to the button switch on the diverter duct that connects to the heater box. I'm guessing the button switch was pulled apart.

Re: AC Wire ID help please
Yes the button switch was apart and was getting replaced. Thanks Benny as you can see I finally pulled it. Once I finish getting the compressor and brackets bolted up I'll be giving you a call, probably later this week. Where do you get the boxes you ship the evaporate/fan assembly in?

Re: AC Wire ID help please
I sold that duct last year. Just remembered I had a picture of it. If you need one I believe I have one or two good ones. Those things usually have the door broken more often than not when I find them.

Re: AC Wire ID help please
The wire is a ground for the high speed blower relay that you have pictured. Because the box it attaches to is fiberglass they ran it out and grounded it elsewhere.
