Dad handed down his 72 blazer

I havent been on here for a few years but Im excited to be back. Couple months ago my dad handed down the 72 K5 blazer he's had for 27 years!! Been sitting for 12 years, fired right up and drove it home! Most of my memories growing up were in this rig and I drove it in high school for 2 years so Its pretty damn cool. Factory a/c still intact. I did a lot of body work then but I'll have to start over (at least the dents are pulled). Had a built 350, turbo 350 and 205 case. Engine and trans are pretty tired so I gutted it. Turbo 350 is at the trans shop getting overhauled, still cant decide what crate motor to order. Im not doing a frame off but going through it top to bottom hopefully looking almost as good as a full resto. I've got a 6" tuff country lift in the garage ready to bolt on. Planning on running 35's. I researched a lot on this site and appreciate all the knowledge and help found here. I look forward to spending many hours here again.

Nice! Nice dad, too! Check out Summit and Jegs for crate engines. They have specials with good prices.

It looks pretty well preserved and it's nice you got it from your dad.

I bought my Blazer from a guy whose dad had given it to him, and he didn't want it.

My boy better not sell off my Blazer when I hand it down to him (he's 4 now). I hope he at least waits until I'm dead and burried if he does

I bought mine from a guy's kid who wanted a beetle. I almost laughed.

That seems crazy people wouldn't want these classics. I cant believe the guy wanted a beetle instead! Probably a good thing he doesn't own it anymore.

Re: Dad handed down his 72 blazer

Got the turbo 350 back from the trans shop. Full rebuild ready to go. T-case was good just needed seals. Now I've got to decide whether to build this motor or go crate.
