Broke, one week off, what to do?
OK so after the holidays, nobody has much money left. I happend to get this week off ( a first in over 2 years of time off period) and want to do something productive to the truck while I have time. So what's your favorite cheap projects to make our trucks better?? By cheap I'm hoping for things $20 and under. Thanks for all the ideas .

Re: Broke, one week off, what to do?
Underhood detailing. Almost all labor, no cost, and makes a HUGE difference in the appearance of the truck. If you take the time to spend a little money checking belts and hoses and wiring, you can also significantly improve the reliability too.
If everything is in good condition, you could buy some Scotchbrite pads, semi gloss black and Chevy orange spray paint and make a "like new" engine compartment for under $20. Second would be underdash wiring if anyone has ever monkeyed under there. Usually a truck has had a stereo or two in its life, maybe added lights, and things get cut and spliced and not done well. Here are a couple of my examples. No parts needed, it's all bone-stock stuff.

The blue firewall (first one) is my truck, the second one is my 1969 Pontiac 2+2 427, which is a Canadian car. It'd be closest to an Impala SS 427/390 in terms of the engine compartment.
