Decoding My VIN
Just acquired this 69' GMC 4000 COE last weekend. It is similar to a fire truck I used to play in as a kid so I feel the love for it. The vision is a future ramp truck for a drag car. It's a steel tilt cab and I could use some help decoding the VIN: LV4016-G061387 Below the VIN is a tiny: DD stamped into the plate. I'll try to post a pic to this thread....

See what I can find to help a project "idea stream" happen! (always help motivate me anyway):

Re: Decoding My VIN
Swiftshifter68, that Seafoam ramp truck is badass. That bed with the side compartments is what I've been visualizing. Seams like I haven't run across anyone who knows a lot about this body style yet. I've got two projects in front of it though so I've got time to dig and learn. Frame and drive train are in good shape but cab does have some rust. I was surprised it's got power steering. Anyway, thank you so much for the idea's!

Re: Decoding My VIN
I've thought a cab-over wood delivery truck would be sweet. Like an old fire truck with a flatbed conversion. I've also thought about doing the same with a school bus only putting a conventional cab on the chassis.
I need more money to build all the stuff I can think up. |
