Window Won't Roll Down

I'm wanting to remove the window and vent window on my 67..but I cannot roll it down to get the vent window out..The most it will budge is 1 inch..It feels like if i keep putting pressure on it the handle's gonna break..I really don't believe it's seized up by rust beings as high up as it is..There's rust at the bottom of this door of course but this truck doesn't have very must rust at all..It feels like it's binding..The other door window is easy to roll up and down..Should I remove the 4 screws that hold the regulator or loosen them..I've never removed windows in these trucks..Your advise will be very much appreciated.

Re: Window Won't Roll Down

Pull off the door- and window crank handles and remove the door panel. Then you can see what's going on.
My longshot guess is that one of the little plastic roller wheels fractured and is jammed in the tracks. They're about 1/2'' or 5/8" in diameter and after 49 years could be brittle.
Replacing the window regulator is a guaranteed knuckle skinner, so be advised.
Good news is parts are now available.

Well..i had already done all that..but as you know when you take off the panel you really can't see anything..do you think i should remove the 4 screws that holds the regulator?..The glass is all the way to the top..

You should be able to use some white lithium grease on the regulator and lower window track to help it get moving , apply pressure to the top of the glass while attempting to roll the window down , if that doesn't work pull all the screws and drop the window assembly into the bottom of the door . no fun and scratched knuckles/forarms ahead .

It could also be that the felt window channel is bad and is bunched up preventing the glass from sliding down. Pulling down on the glass while rolling it down may help. It is still important to spray a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster, Kroil, or Liquid Wrench (not WD40, unless it is the "Specialist Rust Release Penetrant Spray") on all of the moving parts inside the door.
