Whatch ya think? my 73!
Well been in the 67-72 trucks for the last many years. and now I think i'll try the square body truck.. just bought a "one owner " 1973 chevy short bed truck. bought it from the original owners daughter after her dad passed. this is a low option truck. a 250/ 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree , no air,ps,pb,ect. has short bed, and sport mirrors. no rust! never accident, very clean!!
just a low dollar toy. runs great! see pics

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
I saw this quite some time back when she first listed this on CL. Looked like a pretty decent truck. Glad somebody finally bought it!

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
Nice! Don't be another one of those guys to throw away a straight 6 cylinder for yet another LS swap. It won't be long and those straight 6 cylinder trucks will be the rarest ones out there. I would love to see a 250 build rather than yet another typical LS sheople build

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
Wow, less than 24 hours and all this feed back! and all positive! that's why I like this site so much!!!
my plan is to keep it all original, just clean it up, restore the seat, replace the carpet with rubber mat, tune-up, a re-paint, new tires, and add "a stereo"! and because the Arizona sun beat the door panels and steering wheel pretty bad. I will need to replace those. but I believe I will keep it all original and use it as a winter driver "because no air". I might convert the 3 on tree to auto so my family could enjoy it. When I bought it I asked the lady if it had any original paper work. she replied no. But when I looked behind the seat and found the original Owners manual, protecta plate, dealer "courtesy chev", new car millage doc. -7-miles! emissions pamphlet, delco battery warranty, and lots of other stuff! Because of no options and the light 6cyl, the manual steering is easy. even at stand still. The last few projects had been high dollar restorations. you know 1971-1972...#'s matching big blocks, auto, tilt, tach, loaded ect. but after spending big money on those and going to go to car gatherings afraid that some one might get too close to it! I think this will be fun! don't get me wrong I still own 2 trailer queens but this truck will be lots of fun... will send more pics as I progress! OH and joesjunk, Still want your blue one!!! thx again , dave

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
Really nice! That's just what everyone needs. Where are the rest?? 73/74s are the natural cross-over from 67-72s. The names and many features carried over, and even the grille work on Chevys.

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
I could use soome rubber mats too, what brand will you be using?
Is the 6 that much lighter than a smallblock? I'd be surprised if the difference was enough to notice with everything else up there, the lack of AC and power everything probably helps more.

Re: Whatch ya think? my 73!
Hello from another owner of an entry level C10. My 1982 model shows zero options on the glove box door sticker. It does have power steering, but that may have been standard in 1982. Mine had the infamous 250 six with integral cylinder head/intake manifold and the bulky PAIR system. Since it was pretty lame, I installed a 350 in its place. Sometimes I wish I would have rebuilt the six using an earlier model cylinder head. The earlier sixes are definitely the way to go. Be glad yours is a 73.
Nice to see an original truck. Gonna slam it?
