It's ALIVE-the 9 liter is in and running!
Got the beast running saturday afternoon and set the carb, timing and idle. Runs perfect till ya stomp on her, then she backfires a bit from being to lean. I believe that my pressure regulator is defective (gauge is reading 3lbs@idle). I have a 170gph mechanical holley pump so from there I can figure out why she's starving.

Actually it's a 548cu. It has a 4.25 stroke and a 4.530 bore. I want to get a low 12 second pass with street tires.

Hey Crossy,
Sorry I missed you in wildwood this weekend. It was all I could do to get this thing running. I will post some times in a week or two. I still need exhaust and I'm going to sump my stock tank and run some -10AN line to the pump. These Kumho's might surprise you guys at the track..... Motor is a MERLIN III with some Ray Franks Pro-Filer 24° 350cc oval port heads(yes oval) 4340 crank and H-beam rods (internal balance) MSD HEI and Holley 850.

if they are 711's or 712's or any ecsta, they will probly suprise you at the track i've put these on a ton of cars including my friends 93 twin turbo rx7. and it spins like mad through about 3 gears. im not saying they are bad tires at all but they definatly aren't drag racing tires and they don't hook. just don't be mad if you run some bad times with that motor with those tires on there b/c you are likley gonna have to either baby it down the track or spin all the way down. i would get some ET streets on a set of 15's for the track

I got the 712's. I will eventually buy some slicks but I want to nail down a real street time. I personally want to know what my 1/4 mile time is on the tires I cruise around on are. The 14.2 in my sig could've been a 13.5 with E.T. streets and the 383cu. This truck is gonna have some great street manners so I can surprise some people. Not the best time to swap in a 9.0 with gas @ 1.79 for 93octane.
