Picked up a 1964 C-30 today.
Brought home a 1964 C-30 today. Seller told me it has been stored in a barn for thirty plus years, 49,000 on the odometer, factory tach, radio delete, 283/ 4 speed. Runs real rough, believe lifters collapsed. Interior in good original condition, rust spots in front fenders, no rust on rockers, doors or cab corners. First thing gone is the livestock rack and then work on mechanical problems.

Nice score
That looks and sounds like it is in nice condition. Do you have an overall plan for it yet?

Re: Picked up a 1964 C-30 today.
Thanks everyone, it is a clean truck. No overall plan, get it running and drive it. It does have power brakes too. No power steering. Get rid of the livestock rack and split rims.

Thank you all. Picked up another grill this weekend for $75.00. No dents, just a little surface rust.

Re: Picked up a 1964 C-30 today.
Had the livestock rack on Craigslist, someone came and got it today. Looks better. Got to pull up the plywood now.

Re: Picked up a 1964 C-30 today.
Second owner signed the title on the seller and buyer lines so found a phone number on the internet. Called and left a message, he called back about an hour later and said he would help in anyway he could. Got title in my name and called him back to thank him and get some history on the truck. His father bought it in 1966 from a dealership in Yerington, Nevada. It stayed on their dairy farm in Yerington until he sold it in late 2015. It had the stock rack on it when they bought it, they moved cattle and horses from one pasture to another and to the auction in Fallon, Nevada. He said the 49,930 on the odometer is the original mileage, never turned over. He doesn't have any pictures and said everyone that drove that truck just loved driving it. Can't wait to get it running good so I can start driving it.

Re: Picked up a 1964 C-30 today.
Thanks. That's for sure, the day I brought it home had 40 to 60 mph head wind the last 32 miles to Reno. My Duramax kept shifting back and forth to stay at 70 mph.
