Hood differences through the years

So in searching through the forum I read that in 1979, hoods got a decorative ridge across the front. What about hood latch changes? I've got a '76 with bent hood syndrome and came across a hood from a '89 Sub that looks to be in good condition. Are the latches interchangeable? Will the '76 hood springs bolt up to the '89 hood?

The whole front flip is different from 81+.

You'll need a 73-80 hood, or 73-77 if you want it to be exactly the same as original.

There used to be stiffeners to fix the bent hood, but it is worth mentioning that the hood was designed weak at that point so it would crumple in case of a collision. It may be safer to get lower tension hood springs instead of stiffeners. As stated above, those hoods are different. The early ones extended to windshield, and the later ones met at the cowl vent. The nose is different as well, as is the spring attachment.
