Rewiring issue with starter

Hey guys, hopefully some of you truck gurus can help me out here.

I have a 1965 C10 that has a circa 76 monte carlo 350 SBC in it. I also have a HEI distributor in it so no need for the wire from the starter to the resistor. I'm in the process of rewiring it using a EZwiring harness.

I hooked up the IGN switch today and tried to start it. The starter engages when the key is in the "run" position. Also, when in the start position the engine would fire once then not fire any more, but the starter would still spin.

The kit has two wires that go to the ignition switch that I'm confused about. It has a IGN COIL wire that I hooked up to the SOL terminal of the ignition switch. Then it has a IGN SWITCH IGN wire that I have no idea about.

Re: Rewiring issue with starter

It is wired wrong. The Sol terminal on the switch goes tot he starter and the IGN COIL wire goes to the IGN terminal on the switch that is hot when the switch is on. The Ign coil wire should be hooked to the HEI'
