Re: how much grease

I mixed some 90wt with the cornhead grease to thin it some. If your axle is stock fill the knuckles just like the center section (ring & pinion).

Re: how much grease

believe that it calls for 140 wt gear oil in the steering knuckles. there is quite a difference between grease and oil in their app[lications

This is what I did too. Filled it until it started pouring out the fill hole.

Re: how much grease

thanks for all the info, once again your help puts me in the right direction. i redid a 64 c10 30 years ago and have'nt been able to do more than just routine maintence on my trucks. wife and four kids cut into my fun time. but now i can get back to doing this stuff again. so i found a pretty decent 63 k-10, most parts are at the media blaster now. so i'm working on changing all lubes and alittle chassis work so i can do the body work as stuff comes back. i've been reading on this site for awhile and it makes my head spin the stuff people do and the stuff people know here. this internet stuff is pretty cool, it makes it much easier. and know a couple of my kids are into this stuff too.

Re: how much grease

mikeguy post up some pics--I have heard many different types of oil/lube for the knuckles. I'm pretty sure (can look again) in my manual it calls for 90w gear lube. I used reg u-joints on my axles so my lube will only lube the knuckle's and the knuckle bearings.

Re: how much grease

140 wt is what we use to put in them at IHC, and 90 wt for winter months. I have seen 140 in the Dana literature which I have somewhere.
In section 0 of the manual it does call for 1/2 pint of 90wt
