Re: Our latest find

Nice find,
Interesting how the larger truck has clear turn signals in the hood when in 63 it was mandatory to have amber. It does have the auxiliary cowl extension side turn signals however in amber.

GM may have used amber bulbs in some of the C60 in 63 with white lens ...I know in some other GMs that is what was done .... I have a 63 C60 had a carb fire just before i got it so cant tell you what lens it had ..Also it had a 292 from factory 396 when i got it and still does

Thanks. I'm not sure why it has clear lenses. Maybe it was a early 63?

They must have needed the torque that 6 cylinders had.

Thanks TJ. The 292 is supposed to run. The gas in the tank still smells good so we will if we can get it started up.

The C60-80 trucks had clear lenses and amber bulbs, giving an amber light. C10-30 had amber lenses and clear bulbs.

YES and NO YES it looks like the 62 c10/20 grill.... but the headlight doors wont interchange as the 10/20s have 4 screws and the c60s only have 2

the big 62 and 63 used the 62 styled grille, and as far as I can tell from all my photos, the 62 c/60 and up used a 4 screw headlight, while the 63 c60 and up used a 2 screw.
62 and 63 lcf for some reason still used the 60 grille.
