Turn Signal Issue
Hey guys,
I've almost wrapped up my wiring project. I have a 65 chevy c10 longbed fleetside that the PO had hacked up all the wiring in. I pulled it all and put in a EZ-Wiring harness. All I have left are the gauges. However, I am having a issue with my turn signals that I can't figure out. My brake lights work, but when i'm stepping on my brakes and hit the turn signal lever, the light on that side goes out (ie left turn cuts off the left brake) I know that the wire is the same for brakes and turn signals, so I know that the wiring to the back is good. Also, the turn signals worked before I pulled the old wiring so I'm assuming that the switch inside the steering wheel is good as well. The flasher on the fuse box is brand new as well (I know that brand new doesn't mean good.) I have the turn signal flash wire hooked up to the steering column like it is in the wiring diagram. I just can't figure out why the light doesn't flash. I have a late 70's (I think) Jeep steering column in it, not the original. However, it appears that the wire coloring was the same. Everything else I have wired has worked properly. Does anyone have a idea of what I could try next? Thank you in advance for any advice Franklin |

Re: Turn Signal Issue
That is normal. The stop lights go through the turn switch. When the left turn light goes out it should flash if the ign. is on & the flasher is working correctly. If the turn lights don't work at all check the fuse & flasher.

Re: Turn Signal Issue
It doesn't flash at all, should have made that clear in my original post. The fuse is good, I'll go buy a new flasher this week. Any other ideas if it's not the flasher?

Re: Turn Signal Issue
try the hazard flashers, even though they use your tail lights, they should flash
then swap the flashers and try it again
