Seat belts

A few weeks ago someone was looking for seat belts, and I had mentioned that I had painted them in the past. As I was putting the rear seat back into my Blazer, I noticed that the original belts were discolored so decided to paint these as well.
Here's the result before and after;

Re: Seat belts

What kind of paint did you use?

I was thinking of doing the same with my seat belts using mar hyde paint as I've good luck with it for seats, visors and door panels.

Re: Seat belts

Mar Hyde is a good paint especially for custom colors, but here in Canada I can only get it in quarts which means I have to break out the spraygun. I usually use Color Bond because they have lots of OEM shades in spray cans. This time I used vinyl paint from Dupli-color just to try it out, but didn't find it as nice as Color Bond. Another real good brand is SEM.

Re: Seat belts

Thanks, I think I'll go with the Mar Hyde, wife is worried that it may rub off on clothing, but I know it doesn't with the seats, so it should be fine.

It won't rub off. It's actually more of a dye than paint. I've painted door panels and even parts of seats with no issues.
