292 ci. What valve springs?

Building a 292 for my 1966 c-10 I'm looking at running a mild cam. 213/213 duration at .050 with .502 lift on a 110 Lsa. I'm having trouble on finding information on what valve springs to run. I see 12bolt has a set. But just curious if there are other options.

Tom's set is pretty good. I don't remember what I used for mine. Running .499 lift on my 292.

Comp Cams 980-12 should get you there.

Tom at 12bolt has done a whole lot of inline testing and work...I trust his opinion and a lot of my 292 blueprinting was based on his dyno testing in recent years. You need to look at things other than springs...Lumps in the intake ports?? valve sizes? cutting down for screw in rocker studs? roller rockers? custom pushrods??
Tom can help with all that, heck he can build your head for you.

For cams, if you haven't purchased, you might check out the dual phase cam that Schneider Racing Cams in Cali makes. Im running one.

Thanks for the info. I've got 99% of everything else figured out. I've got "the book" and have done a lot of research on this stuff. Just haven't been able to find a whole lot of info on the springs.

Cam is already on its way, I actually tried contacting Tom twice and never got a response so went with someone else.

I'm just wanting a good cruiser, setup is as follows
LP pistons .040, Offy 4 barrel intake. Demon 4 barrel carb with vacuum secondary's. long tube header. 1.94 intake valves. I opted out of doing the lump port. using the cam i inquired about above, ARP rod bolts, Arp main studs.

I've currently got a worn out 230ci in the truck with a supercharger running 6psi. cant wait for my 292 to be done!

I ended up ordering from 12bolt. Since it comes with everything it was just easier. plus I needed a cam thrust plate anyways. The springs are just something I'm not familiar with how to pick out. I would usually just by cam packages that come with matching springs, but that wasn't an option in this case.

Should be good. The ones I recommended would still give you .050 or more between coils at the full .502 lift.

It'll make a nice engine for sure...and take on a 350 if ya want to. lol I did very similar with mine.

Comp 268H 219 @ .050 .499 lift
Lump ports and 1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust valves
block 0 decked
clifford manifold and short tube headers.
I'm going with the 625 road demon. Is that the one your looking at?

I'm going with the 625 road demon. Is that the one your looking at?

Yeah 625 road demon is the exact carb I have. Picked it up used. rebuilt it. I'm unsure of jetting on it however. I plan to start with a 64 primary jet and 72 secondary and go from their.

Should work nicely. The new ones are supposed to be calibrated for the 6 cylinders. Expensive, but a darn good carb.

Im not sure the exact date mine was manufactured but It looks very new, still has plenty of shine! I've got less than $300 in mine the way it sits. Rebuilt, including a plethora of jets. I couldn't pass it up.

Sounds like you are on track for a great engine! Very similar to mine. I am running an Edelbrock 500cfm on Offy, and very pleased so far.

make sure you have a good sealant and seating on your head studs. I had one leak a little coolant during break in and had to re-do it.
