Sourcing parts for my 89 burb?
There are a few things I am looking for was wondering if anyone knew where a good, affordable place to find this stuff might be.
1) Looking for the rubber bushings on the core support. I find a lot of these around the internet from 25 to 100 bucks and half the time they fit a broad range of models and don't look like mine. Which ones do I actually need, and should I just buy a complete body bushing kit from some place like Energy Suspension instead? 2) Window sweeps, I need the rubber/felt bits that go around the windows all the way around the truck, tailgate glass included. 3) Driver side battery tray. Does any place have these? I found one on ebay for like 100 bucks, which is simply too much. Used would be fine. |

Re: Sourcing parts for my 89 burb?
I had to replace both battery trays on my 89 burb diesel. The driver side was hard to find, and I believe that Amazon ended up being the cheapest. They are all made in China now. I just painted the heck out of it with POR15, scuffed it up, then painted it with gloss black spraypaint. It should be good for a long time.
It helps if, unlike the previous owner, you don't somehow drench it in battery acid and then not bother to clean it off. LMC truck for the window sweep stuff. |

I've come to the conclusion the window sweeps are just going to be expensive. No real way around that besides finding used in good shape.
I might have a battery tray lined up, I'll see how it goes. |
