under hood seals who makes good ones?

I am restoring another 1966 chevrolet c-20 . some of the reproduction parts are awful. I order some under hood seals that go between the hood and the braces . they send me shinney black foam. Does anybody sell the right stuff . 10 years ago i got it . this stuff is junk help!!!!!!!!

Yea I know what your talking about,I remember mine were a tar paper kinda stuff,saw this foam says made in usa I dont know if these are the ones you got,all the chinese rubber is ---- in my search softseal makes a good cowl seal.I havent seen the tarpaper hood brace gaskets in along time.

Yes, Soffseal (notice how it is spelled) makes the only hood to cowl seal that is worth buying. The other vendors sell a hood to cowl seal that doesn't "lay down" properly. Soffseal Hood to Cowl Seal
