They won't erode as quickly as copper...thereby allowing a longer interval between replacement. You won't notice any difference in performance over a set of new copper plugs.

Re: any of you V8 HEI guys use these before ?
A good plug is a good plug. An engine with a decent tune up and a good set of plugs will not see a performance gain from plugs. A better plug just does a good job longer. Now if the plugs in an engine are carboned up and fouled you will see a gain from new plugs. I am old enough to remember pulling plugs out and cleaning them with a plug cleaner and putting them back in. I still have one of these.

Not at all. Both will perform the same. The platinum plug will simply allow for a longer service interval.

The one I have I got in the 70's and not sure when it was made. Champion made a good looking one also. They do show up on ebay ever so often.

We ran Taylor on the racecars and they did fine. Have Taylor wires on my Harley.

>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-NOS-...467266&vxp=mtr <<. I recall an AC blaster/tester at the Chevy d-ship that had a compressor/gauge/firing function to show how well it fired under compression. Shop manager let me, about 12 years old, use some of their equipment, including this. Worked, too, as some plugs failed to fire properly after cleaning & running the firing-under-comp test--as well as in the car. Sam |
